Through a variety of events, we invite you to connect with our officers, learn about the important work they do, and get involved in making our community a safer place for everyone.

Here are some exciting opportunities to interact with your local law enforcement in an engaging, educational, and fun way:

Citizens' Police Academy
Ever wondered what it’s like to be a police officer? The Citizens’ Police Academy offers an in-depth look at the inner workings of our police department. Over several weeks in autumn, participants will learn about police procedures, criminal investigations, and law enforcement tactics. This free program provides a hands-on opportunity to ask questions, observe demonstrations, and gain a deeper understanding of the vital role our officers play in maintaining safety and order. It’s a great way to connect with the officers who serve your community and build a stronger, more informed relationship.

Safety Town Camp
Safety Town is a fun and interactive summer camp designed to teach young children important safety lessons in a hands-on, memorable way. Through games, activities, and role-playing scenarios, children will learn about pedestrian safety, fire safety, stranger danger, and how to interact with law enforcement in a positive, non-threatening environment. Led by police officers and community volunteers, this camp helps children build confidence and awareness, ensuring they grow up with the knowledge they need to stay safe.

National Night Out
Join us for National Night Out, an annual event that promotes community partnerships and neighborhood camaraderie. This nationwide event brings together local law enforcement, first responders, and residents for an evening of fun and togetherness. It’s a great opportunity to meet officers, ask questions, and learn about the programs and services available in your community. National Night Out also features family-friendly activities, food, entertainment, and demonstrations that showcase the important work our department does.
