The Prosecutor’s office handles all misdemeanor charges that come through the Municipal Court. The Municipal Court has jurisdiction over most misdemeanor crimes that occur within the city limits of Newberg with a few exceptions (such as Driving Under the Influence and Domestic Violence crimes). The Prosecutor’s office reviews cases, provides discovery and prepares plea offers, negotiates with parties and makes sentencing recommendations to the court.
