This action plan to encourage affordable housing in Newberg was developed by the Affordable Housing Ad Hoc Committee and accepted by the City Council. It includes a range of actions and strategies to encourage affordable housing, and lays out a process for developing and implementing effective tools to accomplish this goal.
The Newberg Planning Commission is currently evaluation and refining specific changes to Newberg's Development Code identified in the action plan that are intended to support the retention and development of affordable housing in the community. Also, the Affordable Housing Action Committee is developing the structures needed to implement the plan.
