Affordable Housing Commission
In 2009 the City of Newberg acknowledged that the City had an  affordable housing problem.   To  address this concern  about affordable housing the City created the Affordable Housing Action Plan.  This plan is a guide for the city to reach the ultimate goal to provide save, decent affordable housing for all current and future citizens who live in the City.

To assist in upholding the Affordable Housing Action plan the Newberg Affordable Housing Commission was formed by the City Council in 2012.  The charge of the Commission is to develop recommendations for consideration by the Council regarding how to best use the financial resources of the Newberg Affordable Housing Trust Fund.  This fund was created by Newberg with the following intention:  "The purpose of the Newberg Affordable Housing Trust Fund (NAHTF) is to support the development, preservation, and rehabilitation of housing that is affordable to the citizens of Newberg with incomes that do not exceed 100% of the area median income."

The Newberg Affordable Housing Trust Fund (NAHFT) has funding available periodically within a given year. Funds are available to organizations (non-profit and for-profit)  and individuals that provide affordable housing and/or related services within Newberg.  Funds are to assist with the creation/acquisition of new affordable housing or the maintenance of existing affordable housing inventory within the community.   Loans may be requested from the City of Newberg, for additional information about what types of loans are available click the button below.
