Newberg City Council Roundup September 21, 2026
Council met on September 21st for their regularly scheduled meeting and the following transpired:
- Made a proclamation Honoring the Newberg Virginia Garcia Clinic
- Passed with amendments Resolution 2026-4049.
- Unanimously approved the Consent Calendar which included:
- Resolution 2026-4043-the Janitorial Services Contract
- Resolution 2026-4048-De-annexation legal description change
- Resolution 2026-4046-Authorizatino to initiate Geotechnical Work supporting the Springbrook sewer line
- Resolution 2026-4047 Authorizing a Non-Exclusive Temporary Public Access Easement, so as to allow a temporary trail to be built in the interests of pedestrian safety.
- Passed Resolution 2026-4044 giving an exemption from competitive bidding and use the CM/GC Contracting Method for Wastewater Treatment Plant Upgrades.
- Made a motion to approve the River Street Ad-Hoc Committee recommendations to move forward with an RFP, prioritizing the 58-foot width and evidence-based best-practice tree replanting as reviewed by the Ad-Hoc Committee; updating the raised/concrete intersection language to "consideration" with a goal of best practices for traffic calming; with an update to Council at approximately the 60 percent design mark by the River Street Ad-Hoc Committee to provide design-specific information related to potential property impacts and Ad-Hoc recommendations thereafter; and with the RFP scope of work to be brought back to Council for review at the next meeting
- Passed Resolution 2026-4045 Authorizing the City Manager to execute the Housing Planning Assistance Grant Intergovernmental Agreement
- Made a motion to approve the timeline for the urban growth boundary
