The Old Fashioned Festival Returns: "Then and Now"
July 15, 2026Newberg's favorite summer tradition is back! The 2026 Newberg Old Fashioned Festival, themed "Then and Now", takes over Memorial Park and the surrounding downtown streets July 23-26, bringing four days of parades, food, live music, classic cars, and old-fashioned fun to the heart of the city. Whether you're a longtime festival-goer or joining the celebration for the first time, here's what to expect this year, including some road closures you'll want to plan around.

A Weekend of CelebrationThe festival kicks off on Thursday, July 23, with the park and surrounding streets transforming into the festival grounds. This year brings something new: 6th Street between Blaine and Howard will close for the full festival to make room for additional food vendors, so come hungry!
The centerpiece of the weekend is Saturday's Grand Parade, followed by a full day of car culture on Sunday with the Old Fashioned Festival Cruise-in.

Grand Parade: Saturday July 25NOFF parade routeThe parade kicks off at 10 AM and runs through noon, following this route: Starting at E. Eighth and college, the parade travels east to S Meridian St., north on S Meridian, west on E. Second St., south on Main St., east on E. Third St., and south on S. Blaine St. where it disbands near E. Eighth and S. Blaine.

Grab your lawn chairs and stake out a spot early! Here's what you need to know:Before the parade: On Tuesday, July 21, Public Works crews will be sweeping and cleaning the parade route and streets bordering Memorial Park to get things ready. Please move vehicles off these streets that day so crews can do their job.
Parade day parking and closures: Parking and cross traffic will be restricted along and inside the parade route from 6 AM to 1 PM on Saturday, July 25. Watch for posted 'No Parking' signs in the area.
Plan ahead if you live inside the route: Crossing the parade route will not be allowed once it's closed, so if your home is inside the route, plan to get where you need to go before the streets close, otherwise you'll need to wait until the parade wraps up.

Street Closures Around Memorial ParkBecause the festival draws hundreds of visitors into Memorial Park, the city is putting extra measures in place to keep pedestrians safe throughout the weekend:
The two residential streets on the east and south sides of the park will close periodically throughout the festival as crowds gather, reopening as activities slow down.
Starting Thursday, July 23, barricades  go up on the south side of E. Fourth/S. Howard extending to E. Sixth St. E Fifth St. will be closed between S. Howard and S. Blaine, with one-way westbound traffic allowed from Blaine to Dayton Ave. The 400 block of S. Howard closes to vehicles for the duration of the festival, along with the new 6th Street closure between Blaine and Howard mentioned above.
A modified traffic grid will also be in effect: S. Howard will run one-way southbound between E. Second Street and E. Fourth Street, and E. Fourth Street will run on-way eastbound to S. School.

Car Show and Cruise In: Sunday July 26Cap off the weekend with the Car Show and Cruise In, running all day Sunday. Classic cars will be diagonally parked along E. Sixth from S. Blaine to S. Edwards, and along the 500 block of S. Howard. The 500 block of S. Howard will be closed to parking and through traffic until roughly 5 PM for the event.
If you live along the display streets, please avoid driving through the show area for everyone's safety. The city will work with residents to make sure you can still get in and out of your home during the show.
