Beginning July 1, 2026*, an annual average of $63.75 will stay in the pockets of our residents.
- No property tax increase taken saves an average of $30.39 annually per household
- Retirement of Communication Officer Fee saves an average of $33.36 annually per household
Here’s how we did it...
Precise Financial Stewardship: The City's finances are in strong shape with no deficit and no shortfall. Because of that, we chose not to take a property tax increase we were legally allowed to take this year. You can thank our Finance Team and City leadership for the careful financial stewardship that made this decision possible.
Paying off debt early and saving you money: We used strategic revenue sources including a property sale, photo enforcement camera revenue, and payments from the school district for our School Resource Officer program to pay off a City debt two years ahead of schedule. That means one less charge on your utility billing statement, starting on your July bill, which will be received in August.
What’s Next? We’ll continue to strategically leverage various revenue streams to pay down even more debt, based on City Council’s current goals. In upcoming years we hope to bring down the Wastewater line on your Utility Bill considerably.
