Councilor Jeri Turgesen - District 3

Councilor Jeri Turgesen represents District 3 for the City of Newberg.
Growing up in rural Yamhill County, Dr. Jeri has strong values in community, collaboration, and caring for others. Her desire to join the Newberg City Council stems from her deep-rooted commitment to the Newberg community, and desire for a long-term vision of success for the city. She is excited by the thought of representing her neighborhood, fostering civic engagement, and cultivating relationships throughout the city with our local government, community-based organizations, civic groups, and stakeholders to support developing a sense of community and engagement. She has a genuine interest and passion for public service.

Dr. Jeri Turgesen is a psychologist serving the Newberg-Dundee Public Schools, focusing on expanding mental health services and supporting youth and families. Additionally, she maintains a private practice and volunteers her time for local not-for profit agencies. Previously Dr. Jeri worked as a regional administrator for a large healthcare organization supporting behavioral health and mental health programming throughout the Oregon region.  

A Newberg resident, Dr. Jeri is committed to creating inclusive, compassionate support systems for her community.

Jeri and her partner John moved to Newberg in 2010. They have two children and enjoy running, hiking, projecting and spending time outside.
