The city is embarking upon design and study that will leave us with a greatly improved River Street. Key elements of this will include a protected bike lane and new road surface. It may also include flag holders to recognize our local veterans for their service. The development of new cross sections is already under way. This project will be jointly funded between the Newberg Urban Renewal Agency and the city using system development funds to cover a large portion of the cost. It is also hoped that this will ignite more interest in the former mill site and enhance local economic development.
