Water System Testing Scheduled for March 24 Near Edwards St & First St
NEWBERG, OR. -
The City of Newberg Public Works Department will conduct operational testing of the water distribution system on Tuesday, March 24, 2026, between 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. Residents and business owners in the affected area may experience temporary water pressure fluctuations or brief service interruptions during this time.
The testing is being conducted in preparation for an upcoming valve replacement project at the intersection of Edwards Street and 1st Street. During the testing period, City maintenance crews will verify their ability to isolate sections of the water system by operating valves throughout the area. Valve replacements will occur before May 7, 2026 to avoid conflicts with Oregon Department of Transportation ADA ramp replacements.
Any service interruptions are expected to be brief. Customers are encouraged to plan ahead and reduce water use if pressure drops are noticed during testing hours.
This work is part of the City's ongoing commitment to maintaining and improving the reliability of Newberg's water infrastructure.
Crews are out today, March 17, 2026, notifying affected residences and businesses of the testing.
