City of Newberg Announces Major Roadwork Projects Ahead for Summer 2025
(NEWBERG, OR) - The City of Newberg is excited to announce a series of major roadwork projects coming this summer. These projects focus largely on pavement rehabilitation and target areas all over Newberg. In total, approximately $420,000 is budgeted for pavement improvements in the last half of FY 24-25, with an additional $920,000 slated for the first part of the Biennial 25-27 budget cycle.

The upcoming roadwork initiatives are designed to address much-needed improvements to city transportation infrastructure. The City’s Public Works Department, in collaboration with local contractors and transportation partners, will oversee these critical upgrades.

Key Projects this summer will fall into four discreet phases, including:

  • Phase 1: Crack Sealing on Mountainview
    • When? May – June (weather dependent)
  • Phase 2: Grind and Inlay south of downtown Newberg
    • When? Second week of June  UPDATE: This work will be done June 23rd &24th
    • Where? S. Center St from 3rd to 9th, S Meridian from 8th to 9th, E 4th St
  • Phase 3: Grind and Inlay near GFU and Friendsview
    • When? 2nd-3rd weeks of July
    • Where? Fulton Street and Meadow Lane
  • Phase 4: Cape Seal and Slurry seal south of downtown Newberg
    • When? August 7th and 18th
    • Where? S Howard St, E 3rd St from Howard to College, S School St, E 3rd St from Main to Blaine

TUF Plan 2025 Overall

Work on these projects is expected to begin in the summer of 2025, with most major work taking place between May and August. While every effort will be made to minimize disruptions, residents and commuters are advised to expect temporary lane closures, detours, and occasional road closures throughout the duration of these projects. The City encourages everyone to plan ahead and use alternative routes when possible.
