Due to construction delays, the closure at Villa and Mountainview will remain closed until 8/29/2025.
Update 3/27/2025
Beginning tonight, Villa Road will be completely closed at Mountainview, just past the Northwest Christian Church entrance. It is scheduled to be closed until June while they work on the roundabout and traffic interchange there.
Mountainview Road traffic will be moved to a shoefly (temporary roadway) that has been constructed to allow traffic flow to continue during construction. The use of the shoefly will commence on Monday morning. There will still be no access to Mountain View from Villa. Barricades have been placed at 2 of the 3 church entrances on the Mountain View side to try and keep traffic from cutting through the church areas. Traffic from Thorne to Villa has been marked as local traffic only.
If complaints or issues arise to the point where enforcement actions are warranted, violations of the local traffic notices and signs on Thorne can be enforced under ORS 811.265 (Fail to Obey Traffic Control Device, fine of $265). Issues of vehicles cutting across the church parking lot can be enforced under City Ordinance 10.10.020 (Crossing Private Property, fine of $250).
Update 3/17/2025
As part of the Collina at Springbrook subdivision, roundabout construction and road widening will be occurring on E Mountainview Drive along the project frontage between N Center St and N Alice Way. The new roundabout will be located at the intersection of E Mountainview Drive and N Villa Road. N Villa Rd at E Mountainview will be closed and a detour put in place starting 3/27 until June 2025. E Mountainview Drive will remain open with flagging and minimum temporary closures.
Traffic control will change with the stages of construction and traffic may be restricted to local access only at times. All local establishments and homes will have vehicle access throughout construction. To lessen the traffic burden, we recommend avoiding E Mountainview Drive between N Center St and N Alice Way for the duration of the project if possible.
