June Events
- Summer Reading Mascot | Fridays: Kids and Teens are invited to search in the library and around downtown Newberg for the library's Summer Reading Mascot, Percival P. Potato. Mascots move within the library and rotate among various downtown businesses weekly, relocating Fridays (except for Juneteenth holiday closure). Picture clues will be available on social media or in-person.
- Art Show Sign-Up (Grades 3-12) | June 6th-July 25th. Youth: Register at the Children's or Information Desk from June 6 - July 25. Submit art inspired by our Summer Reading theme: "Plant a Seed, Read."
- Keeper of the Lost Cities Party (Kids & Teens) | Tuesday, June 16th; 2:00-3:30pm. Join us to celebrate the beloved book series by Shannon Messenger.
- Public Works Day | Wednesday, June 17th, 2026; 11:00am-1:00pm. Meet the equipment and the people that keep our city running smoothly! FREE hot dog lunch will be served to the first 500 people.
- Unit Souzou Japanese Taiko Drumming | Thursday, June 25th; 11:00am. An expressive blend of taiko and Japanese folk dance.
- Ice Cream Party & Giant Lawn Games | Saturday, June 27th; 3:00–4:00pm. Free ice cream provided by Jem 100 (while supplies last). Play Giant Connect 4, Giant Tetris and more!
- Spice Kits | New spice kits will be available on June 6th, July 1st, and August 4th: Visit the downstairs circulation desk for a spice surprise. There will be a new spice kit each month while supplies last.
